Look, I know proper stallions are rear engine, rear wheel drive vehicles.... but I believe that the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is the best looking Ferrari of all time........ the 488 GTB is a close second.
If I’m wrong, at least tell me it’s not because it’s FE

No, you’re wrong, but it’s only because the F12 Berlinetta is the best-looking Ferrari of all time.

You’re not insane, my option for the best looking ferrari is also not very popular, it’s a matter of taste. I’d have to go with the cocaine one in cocaine color, I love the looks. I don’t even care about the closet full of white suits you have to buy with it.

I prefer the front engined (or rather front-mid engined) Ferraris anyway, as did Enzo!

yes, youre insane.
the front engine, rear drive, v12 is what “proper stallions”
should
be.
and this layout has many, many beautiful and iconic models:
250 GTO
275 GTB
365 GTB daytona
hell, i even like the more modern 550 maranello and F12. and the awkward 612 and 400.
it was only when the designers figured out they could achieve better performance with the mid engine layout did ferrari start moving more toward this setup. but i believe old man ferrari’s layout of choice was front engine.

Eh, to me it looks squished (at least in that image). To me the best-looking Ferraris (and I ay be showing my age) are the 360, F40, and F50, and a handful of classics. This modern stuff looks less times and sexy and more “we need to make this more interesting and put a hole in this random spot in these panels, and say it improves aerodynamics! We’ll charge an extra $50k for models with even more vents, hahaha!”.

I haven’t counted but I would wager that the 599 has less vent holes than the f40

Perhaps, but I was being facetious. The F40 was almost entirely function over form, holes included. It has a more timeless design (not “times”, as autocorrect changed it to) that I don’t think the 599 can match.

I think I disagree there... I don’t think the F40 has aged well at all. The F50 on the other hand still looks great. But that’s not to say I don’t enjoy Ferraris from the 1980’s, I think the Testarossa is beautiful, so is the 288. I certainly was a big fan of the F40 as a kid (along with the Jaguar XJ220 and Lamborghini Countach, they were all posters on my wall) but looking back, none of those cars aged particularly gracefully. Perhaps those 5-10 years between the designs, even being 20+ years ago, still has a strong effect. In 10 years, will I think of the F50 the same as I think of the F40 now? Possibly, but there will be nothing to replace the F50 in my mind so it’s possible the F50 stays unchanged.

I’m not as huge a fan of the F40 as I am the F50, but it has proportions which still look wild and exciting today. That said, Ferrari is still far down my list of brands I admire, which is topped by McLaren as far as exotics go.
